Team EARTH Goals

It is our goal to each live more sustainably, help educate our community on how we are connected to the environment, and reduce the harm of our lifestyles. All EARTH activities will center around these goals.

Projects in the works:

  1. Designing and constructing on campus (Santiago High School) gardens that model growing vegetables locally and eating more sustainably. We want to turn non-productive landscaping into "edible landscape" that is productively yielding food for our community. It is already being watered with recycled (purple) water.
  2. Producing short skits that model simple ways to reduce the harm. These will be less than 5 minutes and given to classes on campus by invitation, Shark TV, and posted on this website for viewing by all.
  3. Modeling composting on campus to show what people can do at home to reduce their solid waste output significantly. This compost is also used to build up the soil in our gardens organically without commercial fertilizers.
  4. Using our website to invite you to record the earth friendly changes in lifestyle that you make and calculate the cumulative harm reduction in terms of carbon output and fossil fuels not used in our community.
